Our coffee you are enjoying is 100% Arabica beans from the Monte Sion Estatein El Salvador. The Bourbon plant is one of the oldest and rarer varieties which matures slowly allowing for more flavour, sweetness and body to develop. This results in an amazingly complex coffee with notes of caramel, butter, toffee, almonds, ripe fruit and chocolate, giving you a delicate yet thick hazelnut crema in the cup, bright acidity and some floral notes. El Salvador has become one of the most efficient coffee producers in the world and we are pleased that the coffee grown at Mote Sion is Rain Forest certified. Our choosen coffee beans are from farms that are managed according to the RFA’s (rainforest alliance), rigorous environmental, social and economic criteria. A process designed to conserve wildlife, safeguard soils and waterways, protect the workers, their families and the local communities to achieve long term sustainability. Did you know it takes around 5 years to get the coffee to your cup and there are approximately 52 beans per freshly roasted single espresso shot?
